  • Dramatic Octopus Brawl

    My 2nd watercolor was based on a colorful dream I had (the only colorful dream I can remember ever having, actually). It was an extremely peaceful dream. Yet, somehow when I painted it, it turned into a dramatic octopus brawl. Makes me wonder what I’m feeling deep down in my heart. I love trying to interpret strange dreams. Here’s what Dream Moods had to say:

    “To see an octopus in your dream means that you are entangled in some difficult matter. Your judgment is being clouded.  Alternatively, the octopus indicates that you are overly possessive and maybe too clingy in a relationship. “

    Interesting.

    Do you dream in color?

  • octopus brawl, or not, it is lovely! I never thought about whether I dream in color. hmmm, I guess I’d have to say yes, because I don’t remember ever thinking that they were just black and white.

  • Pretty!!!

    My dreams are in color but never too colorful.  Do you usually dream in black & white?

  • I love that watercolor! Pretty colors. and the idea of a floating, curling, colorful octopus is lovely. the dots are a nice touch.  Are there two octopuses (octopi?) there, or one?

    i remember a vivid dream way back in high school that inspired me to draw something, but it was only a doodle of a strange triceratops character. i wrote a little about it in a journal. i have written about some other dreams, but that was the only time i remember drawing something. how cool that you were inspired to paint!

    my husband had a dream that made him crack up hysterically in his sleep. when he told me the dream it was like a very silly joke with a crazy punchline.  we still giggle about it once in awhile, once just recently in fact.

  • It seems to have a good vibe about it, I feel octopus dancing more than a brawl.

  • That looks pretty cheerful for being a brawl. I’ve watched spiders tussle before. It was fascinating. I dream in color.

  • I like the painting–it has a lot of movement. I do dream in color: I remember seeing a blue and white china pitcher last night.

  • @Still_Bruhaha -  I think so!  They are always very bland.  Things will get bright or dark, but not necessarily colorful. It’s weird to try and remember.

    @SarahakaHungry - I think there are two, maybe even three in there!  I have totally woken up laughing before. haha. It’s a silly filling.
    @WildWomanOfTheWest - Aren’t they funny?

    @Roadkill_Spatula - Spiders tussling…interesting!  I picture those old wild west cartoons, where they fight and its just one giant dust cloud with random arms and legs flailing about, haha.

    @whyzat - That’s so detailed! Wow. :)
