  • Bits of Oklahoma

I can't remember if I've shared these or not, some of them have been hanging around my desktop for months now. I'm finally getting my pictures organized for the first time in a while.

    From a local farm...

    Stuck behind a tractor...

    Feet on the dash...

    Collecting pinecones...

    Windmill silhouette...

    I love living here. :)

  • Can't Sleep...

When I can't sleep sometimes it helps to write a big long list of everything that's on my mind, then give myself a pedicure while watching Hulu.

My dad saw this picture and asked me to remind him never to eat off of my coffee table again. ;)

  • Under the Building

I instantly panicked. Then I remembered my husband is a commercial plumber.

  • Hair Curling Woes No More

After years of attempting to get beautiful while sweating away in the humid state of Florida, I had come to view curling my hair has a massive chore reserved only for weddings or anniversaries. It was torture! Even with the air blasting and a fan pointed right in my face, I always despised doing my hair and makeup!

Moving to less-humid Oklahoma made the whole process of getting ready a lot more enjoyable.  So did setting up my own little seated vanity area. And then...I found this youtube tutorial.

It changed everything.  It is SO easy. My arm doesn't cramp. I don't get all sweaty. I don't burn myself. I actually enjoy doing it! See how pretty it turns out?

    Try it!

  • Remember That 7-Eleven?

When Joe and I were snowed in our hotel after our wedding and we were finally sick of being in the hotel and having pizza delivered for days on end, we decided to bundle up and walk through the winter wonderland to the closest open establishment we could find. Almost 2 miles (yes uphill) in the biting cold we found a gas station and got hot chocolate there before walking all the way back.

So on the night of our 5th Anniversary we revisited that same gas station and took a (much shorter) walk with our drinks!  It was cold, but not nearly as cold as it was during the ice storm!  We had fun remembering.

    Our cute countdown calendar:

A clever gift and sweet card from Joe's mom (5th Anniversary=wood):

    At our 7-eleven:

Bundled up and being romantic in our own weird way:

My parents got us a new Ninja blender. So we'd have many more anniversaries together! ;)  We've been on a smoothie/health kick lately and this blender has been a big motivator! We used our new blender to make fresh grapefruit-coconut-lime juice to toast with. I even used fancy star shaped ice cubes!

We ended the night watching movies with a giant bowl of popcorn and a pile of blankets and pillows on the living room floor.

  • Christmas Festivities

  • Lady + Man + Kitty + Tree

Sometimes we get carried away with the webcam snapshots...

  • 5th Anniversary

We have been friends for 9 years...

We have been a couple for 7 years...

    Our Love Story

  • Thanksgiving in Florida

I'm a couple months behind, but I have lots of pictures to share so here we go! I'll just kind of narrate the pictures, though we did a bunch of other stuff with Joe's family that I didn't get pictures of, but that's because no one wants to see us stuffing our faces full of food, yelling sarcastic "burns" at each other, and taking naps in random places. Okay maybe there's one napping picture, but let's get on with it already....

Khloe helped me pack for our roadtrip (but she didn't get to come to Florida, she stayed at the ranch while we were gone).

Here's most of the stuff packed up and ready to go. Including the kitty.  I printed off all kinds of fun games and snack toppers using templates from The Dating Divas (fantastic blog, btw)

No roadtrip is complete without dashboard zebras! The nice looking zebra is from my sister Keara. The lumpy looking one is named Frankie, and he likes to do Zoolander impressions. Also, he has been sitting on Joe's dashboard since back when we first started dating! So...about 7 years now!

    Oklahoma/Texas border

    Yay for Bingo!

    Oh my.

We stopped and spent part of the day with Joe's aunt and uncle in New Orleans (and we got to meet Joe's cousin's daughter, Cate for the first time!) Here we are at the New Orlean's Museum of Art Sculpture Garden. It was beautiful and unique!  So much fun!

We were treated to so much good food. Sadly, this is the only picture I managed to take of it. The remains of my shrimp poboy. Pretty sure I finished licking the plate clean after this.  The waitress even asked me if I needed a to-go container.  Um...nope I'm good!

We finally arrived in Florida and pretty much immediately collapsed into this awesome giant bean bag bed at James and Nik's place. Of course their kitty made us feel right at home. ;)

James built a trebuchet that he and JJ used to launch tinker toys at Uncle Joe.

This was taken while hanging out at Eric and Rebekah's.  We all wondered what was taking Joe so long in the bathroom and then he walked out with this...interesting...beard/stache.

It was perfect for playing video games in, apparently.

We went to see Christmas on Ice at Busch Gardens. I love all these pictures of Joe and his mom.  They are a three ring circus and I love them. Oh, and the beard/stache disappeared before it showed itself to the droves of people at the amusement park, and we were all a little secretly relieved.

    Yay!

More Busch Gardens tidbits. Yes, Joe's front curl was worth documenting!

    A pretty purple flower. :)

A crazy pajama shopping trip followed by a Starbucks date with mom and Rebekah. :)

Thanksgiving day, we saw this written in the sky.

Happy Thanksgiving!! We spent Thanksgiving day with Nik's side of the family, surrounded by lots of fun people and delicious food courtesy of Steph & Eric.

We stopped by Joe's grandparents' place (in Alabama) to spend the night on the way back to Oklahoma.

Coffee and the morning paper early the next morning....

Joe and his grandparents, Flossie and Frank.

    Back on the road...

Eating a dilly bar in my pajamas because that seemed like the adult thing to do...

You know that point in the trip when you are sleep deprived, needing a shower, and your legs start getting all crampy?  Well, that's when Joe started making faces like these to entertain me.

And I started playing with apps on my phone and making dancing videos of him, haha.

And as much as I hate to leave you with that image, that's the last picture I took before we made it home.  The end.

  • Breakfast at the Ranch

I found these pictures on Joe's phone. I don't even remember when they were taken.

    I like them.
