  • How I’ll Go

I think I already know how I’m going to die someday. I’m certain it will involve a fall….a fall I will have taken voluntarily to avoid stepping on a sprawling kitty.

If this ends up actually coming true, you all have my permission to laugh about it. What a way to go! ;)

  • Insta Life: Trip to Kansas

We drove up to Kansas over Memorial Day Weekend for my friend Sara’s wedding (our moms went to highschool together!). It’s a 3 hour drive or so for us. It was a fun little roadtrip. Just the right length. The sad part is I spent the whole trip badly sunburned because I thought it would be great to lay out by the pool without sunscreen the day before we left. I don’t know what I was thinking. I spent most of the time in the shade but that didn’t matter. We had fun anyway though!

    1. By the pool, finishing “Water for Elephants” 2. Joe brought me a Sonic Strawberry Slush. 3. On our way! Coffee in hand. 4. Haysville, Kansas. So pretty. 5 & 6. My friend Renee and I have known each other since 2nd grade. We have been posing for similar pictures in this park since we were kids. 7. Sara’s wedding program and bubbles! 8. The pretty bride. 9. The camo beer cozy wedding favor, hehe.

And here’s a picture someone else took of Joe and I at the wedding reception.

  • In the shop: Metal Rainbow Roses

These are such a fun addition to our shop. We had someone custom request a bouquet of “rainbow roses” and Joe figured out a way to do it!  Then he taught me and left me with the task of painting them all (a slightly laborious process, haha).

I love how they turned out.  The engraved gift tag reads “Your only fault is that you lack the sense to avoid falling in love with a fool like me.”

    So sweet!

  • Insta Life: Mother’s Day Bonfire

    Mother/daughter feet:

5 out of 9 kids. (plus Joe)

    Hot dogs & S’mores!

We sat in the grass in a circle telling stories and laughing. I told mom she looked like a Martha Stewart garden party with her tiny dog in her lap, golden sunshine, wicker chair, and gazebo.

A few minutes later all of the little dogs broke out of the back yard and went running everywhere because the neighbor’s bloodhound had come for a visit.  All of us jumped up and scrambled to grab dogs and break up fights. When we got all the dogs put away and settled back down, I said “never mind about the Martha Stewart comment” haha.

    We love you, mom!

  • Back Pasture Hike

These pictures are from when Joe and I hiked out to the back pasture to see the little waterfall (at my parents’ place). It was a fun adventure. We took turns with the camera.

We’re big fans of LOST, so when we found this “hatch” Joe drew “the numbers” in the dirt. haha.

See Joe’s silhouette in the tree?

I thought this branch looked like a lightning bolt!
