I spend the majority of time in hot pink yoga pants, a floppy tshirt, and a “bun” on top of my head. It’s my work-from-home-running-an-Etsy-shop look. I tried to dress up my bun with a headband I made from an old pillowcase. It helped. I felt fancy.
Sometimes, its nice to dress up a little. I feel like I am rediscovering all things girly. A year or two ago (I can’t remember when exactly), purple was in fashion. I was so excited to see finally see purple everywhere (my FAVE color) so I stocked up on all kinds of fun shirts and skirts. Then fashion went back to being confusing and weird. But recently, I am seeing all kinds of colors and ideas that have got me excited about putting together outfits. Is it because its all bright colors and interesting shapes and brings me back to the outfits I probably wanted to put together as a kid? Maybe…but, whatever it is, I’m having fun with it.
Mt favorite accessory? A cat-butt hat. Even better if it snores.
My facebook status the other day goes along with this dressing room picture:
I found an awesome deal on a new skirt today. It has a really cool high-low hemline. I put it on to show Joe when we got home and I spun in a circle while proudly exclaiming “Look at me! I’m being trendy for once!” Joe said “You look amazing…but I think that’s supposed to be a dress…” He was right. This is why I fail at being trendy y’all.
I don’t care. I wore it out as a skirt anyway.
I customized and ordered this necklace from The Serendipitous Find. They threw in these silver spike earrings for free!
It got me inspired to make some new jewelry for myself! I hit the sales at Hobby Lobby and got enough stuff for several necklaces. I will share pictures when they’re all completed!
I’ll end with a new pic of my current hair. The purple had faded to blue, so I added hot pink in there and now I have three different colors going on. It makes me happy.
This is Frankie the dashboard zebra. When I was teenager, I found him in the corner of a thrift store and begged my mom to buy him for me. I think her reply was something like “Okay, but he looks like someone chewed on him…” I thought he was the most adorable little frumpy zebra ever. He rode around on the dashboard of my super cool ’92 Tercel. Fast forward to 2005-ish when Joe and I started dating. I mailed Frankie to Joe in a package with a note that said “He likes to sit on dashboards.” So he rode around in Joe’s super cool ’88 Oldsmobile. We’ve had a few different cars since then and every single time we’re at the dealership, we’ve made a HUGE ceremonious ordeal of transferring Frankie from one dashboard to the other. He made it into a lot of pictures during our roadtrip to Florida last fall. Frankie always tells on Joe, too. If I get in the car and see Frankie flung onto the floor or into the back seat, I know that Joe has been taking turns a little too fast. My favorite is when we find him sprawled out in some awkward crime scene pose. I want to start chalking his outline on the dashboard. Okay, that’s weird. My sister Keara sent me another cute zebra so he could have a friend. This might be the start of something great. If you’re one of those people that find dashboards crammed with stuffed animals great.
I like telling stories. I know I’ve just been sharing a ton of pictures lately, but I have lots of words brewing for future posts! I’m starting small here, but I miss writing out all the things swirling in my head.
We’re headed out to the ranch this weekend. Here’s a peek at some of our weekend family adventures from this month! Hint: They mostly include eating, laughing, and beating on each other.
Okay, I gotta go get packed up for our drive out to the ranch! Enjoy your weekend! edit: Change of plans. Staying home this weekend to get caught up on Etsy orders! But there may be eating, laughing, and beatings on Sunday to document!
Sorry for all the comics in a row. I’ve been accidentally saving them up for you, I guess. haha Things just got really busy around here the last few days, so it seemed like a good time to play catch up with the funnies.
