These are from last week. I especially like this creepy, blurry picture I took through the peephole in my door.

Droplets on the window.

Look at the porch lights glitter like gold.

I love a good storm.

I treated myself to a water color set! I've always wanted to try, and I love the look of black ink over top of watercolor.

So here it is. My first time playing with watercolors. I added the quote about perfection so as not to judge myself too harshly, ha. It isn't perfect, but I had FUN. :)

"I think perfectionism is based on the obsessive belief that if you run carefully enough, hitting each stepping stone just right, you won't have to die. The truth is that you will die anyway and that a lot of people who aren't even looking at their feet are going to do a whole lot better than you, and have a whole lot more fun while they're doing it." -Anne Lamott

We went to the park for live music and fireworks! We forgot to bring lawnchairs or a blanket but ended up scoring a bench in the shade by the pond!

Buffalo sculptures...

Making our own 'fireworks' while we wait, hahaha. ;)

The view from our bench. I love how everyone has patriotic red lawn chairs, because they're OU fans!

And the view from our bench after it got dark. The pretty lights were a nice surprise!

Grateful for freedom and thankful to all who fight for it!

I decided to do a 30 day drawing challenge. Not promising that I'll do it for 30 days in a row, but I'd like to work my way through the list. I tried to track down where this came from originally but I couldn't. Anyway, here's the list.
Day 1: Yourself

This was awkward and weird to draw, but in the end, I decided I like being a cartoon. I just wish the scanner hadn't washed out all the colors.
Day 2: Favorite Animal

Note: this says 'favorite animal' not 'favorite type of animal'. I can't pick a favorite type of animal, I love so many. But Khloe is most definitely the number one animal in my life.
This was really fun, can't wait to do more!

"If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back."
-Regina Brett

These happy little voices greet us everytime we reach the top of the stairs. Their parents have been building a nest on top of the fire alarm box in our breezeway for several weeks now.

Khloe has been plotting ways to dart between our legs and out the door in an attempt to welcome them to the neighborhood. haha.
I love standing on my tip toes to say hello to them. Joe had to stand on a chair to take this picture. I was so afraid he was going to get attacked by the momma bird, fall off the chair, and tumble down three flights of stairs.
Oh but look at the baby fuzz!!! It was worth the risk, ha!

We went to a really cool/funky/retro antique mall on Sunday afternoon. Joe found a little basket of glass bottles with cork tops for $1 each! I picked out this one to bring home. It says "Elixir" and "Tree of Life" on it. So cool! It's a little taller than my thumb. It's one of the smallest purple glass pieces I have!

That's how long it had been since I last got a real haircut. It feels sooo much better!!
