  • Make the bed...

    ....or play the piano?

I think we have an obvious winner.

  • Doodle-y Doooo

    I've been having fun lately.

  • What Happens in the Window

    The rejection of cat grass.

    The mutilation of blinds.

    The dangling of limbs.

Shortly after this picture was taken, a certain someone fell off the windowsill. But we won't name names.

  • Bekah: The Bride

Again, most of these pictures were borrowed from others.

Andrew and Bekah's wedding was beautiful. They got married in her family's backyard. Here's the pretty butterfly I got to wear in my hair (she gave one to each bridesmaid).

This is the bridal hanger that Joe made for her. Check it out on our facebook page: Pioneer Artisan Works.

    Here it is in use--

    Bekah rehearsing her vows aloud.

Here we are holding Bekah's dress up and running in heels from one house to the other, trying to keep the guests from seeing her!

I thought I was going to biff it.

    Me (on the left)

    Here comes the bride!

Her dad and brothers made the arch from an apple tree that had been cut down on their property.

I love the 'Here Comes the Bride" banner. She handmade it!

There were pictures of her and Andrew hanging from the trees by pink ribbon.

    We were all crying, haha.

    First dance!

    The Cake!

Saw so many old friends!  Ben and I--immediately after hugging hello, we took a picture together and texted it to Joe, haha.

    The gorgeous, happy MARRIED couple!

  • Bekah: The Bachelorette

Almost all of these pictures were borrowed from others.

My trip there via Greyhound: I spent 48 hours straight of being either on a bus or waiting for a bus.

Bekah's Lingerie Shower: Sparkling pink lemonade with raspberry and lemon.

The snack table. M&Ms, sunchips, red velvet cake, chocolate stuffed strawberries, and more chocolate..

    Bekah's Bachelorette Party: Our Limo!

The Bride putting her feet up!

    Dinner at Melting Pot.

    Yummy chocolatey desert drink!

    Dancing at a country bar.

And my favorite picture--we presented Bekah with a list of funny/cute tasks she had to complete while we walked the Virginia Beach boardwalk.

It was so much fun!  Are you on "pink" overload yet?

  • Comic: How Not To Invent A Word

    It really tasted great though!

  • Mini Reunion.

    2006:

    2011:

I'm back!  Bekah's wedding was gorgeous!  I'm sure I'll share more pictures eventually, but had to share this one right away! Yay for friends! Why do we all look so old? ;)

  • Let's hope for no ice storm...

Bekah was my roomie at MMR.

She was there the summer Joe and I started dating.

She was there to celebrate our engagement.

She was the rockingest maid of honor when Joe and I got married in 2007.

She did a trial run of my hair and makeup, and helped me practice my walk down the aisle in perfect tempo.

She kept me calm when an ice storm hit and we threw the wedding plans out the window.

She curled my hair and did my makeup just as we'd practiced, even though we were in jeans and hoodies and it was blizzarding outside.

I was so happy to have her right next to me in one of the happiest moments of my life.

She took silly pictures at our wedding reception.

And then got dressed up and went out with the rest of the bridal party so they'd have a chance to wear their outfits.

She's come to visit me every year since then, and I have way too many pictures to show for our adventures!

    And now---she's getting married!!

In a few hours, I'll be on a Greyhound, on my way to see her!  I get to spend the week with her, throw a bachelorette party, and then stand beside her as matron of honor as she marries her love, Andrew. I got to meet Andrew back in January when they were road tripping through.  I am SO excited for them!!

  • Almost tropical...

i can't pick a favorite state when it comes to sunsets and sunrises (not that I see too many of the latter, ha!) New York, Florida, Oklahoma...they are all special in their own way.  So unique.  All equally breathtaking.  I can't describe what makes them different. Sometimes I think that Oklahoma's sunsets are a bit more "dusty" colored.  Muted, earthy tones. Just when I think I've got it pegged, they go and show their flair in a different way and I have to start speculating all over again. It guess better to just stop speculating and just do a happy sigh instead.

I was surprised to see two sunsets this week that totally reminded me of that "tropicana orange" quality that Florida sunsets have.  It made me feel a little homesick for Florida.  I was half expecting to see a palm tree silhouette at any moment.  Or to drive up over the hill and see the sun sinking into the ocean like a molten ball of lava.

But silhouettes of cattle are nice too.

The sun sinks slowly over the horizon, and these wide open spaces let me watch until the very last sliver is gone.

P.s. It's my 26th Birthday today.  I'm wishing for rain.  And yes, I'll probably blow bubbles.  ;)

  • Open Letter to Office Assistant

    Dear Office Assisant,

When I first hired you, I thought things were going to work out great!  You ran across the keyboard so quickly it was like you had two sets of hands!  I have to admit, I enjoy your company, and I'm impressed that you are always close by and ready to help.

You're always great at pointing out things I may have missed while reading articles.  I didn't mind that so much.  I'm a fast reader so sometimes I miss things.

But then you started staring at me.  I thought maybe at first you were just really attentive, a quality I do admire.  However the shifty eyes with no moving of the head has started to really creep me out. The eyes. They follow me as I reach for a pen, as I scratch my nose, as I readjust my ponytail, as I type an email.  I find myself doing two things at once to see which movement or noise your eyes will dart to.  Somehow, you see everything. Somehow, I look like a crazy person.  My productivity continues to decline the longer you keep your gaze.

Then you began sitting on the back of my chair, breathing down my neck, watching my every move.  I was afraid to turn around.  I had to keep typing just to stay sane.  Just keep typing.... Just keep typing...

The power struggle really unfolded when you started sneaking into my royal princess chair when I would get up to get a snack or use the restroom.  You curled up all cozy like you belonged there.  You were so confident, I began to believe that maybe you really did belong there.  So I tried sharing the chair with you, letting you nestle in the pillows while I both literally and figuratively perched on the edge of my seat.

When you began to push your feet into my back, I was forced stand up.  As I looked down and realized that you had completely taken over my throne, I decided that we needed to talk.

After you had a snack, some excercise, and a bathroom break, you agreed to stay in your own office area, and to be as helpful as possible.  I really had high hopes that this would be the end of our disagreements.

    But this--

    is inappropriate office behavior.

    Sincerely,
